The day’s first excursion involved a minibus and a short trip out of town, winding up the side of Doi Suthep to Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep. Barely visible from the parking lot, the beautiful golden chedi only reveals itself after (yet another) long climb up the temple stairs. The food stalls in the parking lot below are full of snack foods including something I can only describe as a Thai corndog: rice and noodles and pork fat with a hint of vinegar shaped and fried like a corndog. Tasty!
