An evening of Muay Thai helped finish out the day. Relaxing in folding chairs with cans of Chang, paper trays of som tam, and skewers of satay while guys attacked each other with hands, feet, elbows, and knees.
Each bout starts out with the two contestants (Red and Blue) paying respect to the spirits and the audience.

The actual fight consists of five rounds, each three minutes long, with one minutes breaks while the fighters get iced down and massaged.

The winner can be determined either by a knockout or by points, kept track of by four judges, one at each side of the court.

Then it’s time to clear the ring, settle bets, and prepare for the next fight.

“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time …”
