2011 Thailand - Arrival

A last look back before leaving for Thailand. Back with Intrepid Travel again, this time heading for Northern Thailand, trading in relaxing beaches for hill tribes and a couple jungle hikes.

Last look at home

My apologies to the Republic of China, but, as many times as I pass through TPE, I still have no interest in visiting the RoC.

Hi ho, hi ho, its off to work we go!

Arrived early on the first day, so while I was waiting for my room to be made ready, I tossed the Holga lens onto my Olympus E-PL1 and went for an afternoon stroll (the only time I used the Holga lens, stuck with the Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 lens for the rest of the trip).

And then everyone heads out for drinks on Khao San Road, a little liquid courage for the days ahead …

“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time …”
