Five klicks further down the river is the huge complex of Wat Tham Sua (and its sister temple, the Chinese style Wat Tham Khao Noi) — complete with mummified monk at ground level, a long set of stairs with naga guardians, a gigantic gold mosaic covered meditating Buddha in half shell, and a huge selection of bells and drums to send your wishes out over the river valley below.
